Orlando, Fla.-- Professional golfer Sarah-Jane Kenyon spoke at a conference for Valencia Community College on Monday about her plans for the 2009 LPGA tour. Kenyon also discusses the busy agenda the next year holds in store for her.
Kenyon gained her 2009 LPGA tour pass after her best played season since 2005. She won the Duramed Futures tour that year, finishing in the top five. She, of coarse is working hard for the preparation of the upcoming tour with the help of her coach Phil Ritson.
Ritson has been working with Kenyon since 2007. "I started seeing him in July last year and up until that point last year my golf was terrible", she said. With the help of Ritson, it's safe to say that that Kenyon will be in good hands for the upcoming tour.
Even with all this great change in her career, her life hasn't changed much from the usual norm. Kenyon admits "so far it’s really just the same old stuff."
The Australian native has another major event to look forward to in the year ahead which is her wedding. January 10, 2009 is the date when Kenyon and her fiance, Duane Smith, will tie the knot in Australia.
Their full schedule doesn't allow them much time to have a honeymoon after the wedding because Kenyon will be back to preparing for the tour.
“I have found out it’s called a mini-moon. We’re going just away for a couple of days, so yeah, not much time at all,” said Kenyon. “Hopefully next year, after the seasons finished, we might be able to actually go on a holiday."
The SBS open will be Kenyon's first tournament she participates in at the LPGA tour which takes place in Hawaii.
From everyone at Valencia College, we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
